The Atkinson School is working on a project “Rivers of the World” with four other Exeter schools as well as a school in Malawi (Africa). This interesting project involves Atkinson students producing a series of prints based on the river Exe and the history that surrounds it. The prints will be digitised and transformed onto a large display board which will then be exhibited on the banks of the river Thames, outside the OXO building in London. The exhibition will come to the Exeter Phoenix and Exeter Library later in the year. This has been a very exciting project to be involved with, giving our young people the opportunity to work with practising artists, develop new skills and have their work seen by a wide audience. The exhibition of the students’ work will be at the Gallery OXO Tower Wharf, London, from 29 August until 9 September.
