The Supreme Court Exhibition – Koestler Awards 2017

STORY TIME is an exhibition curated by the Koestler Trust in collaboration with Victim Support, at the invitation of the UK Supreme Courts Arts Trust.  The exhibition explores the creative ways in which stories can be told through visual means. Each piece on display has been made by an entrant under 18 and selected from the 2017 Koestler Awards – an annual award scheme run by the Koestler Trust that receives over 7,000 entries each year across 51 art forms spanning art, writing and music.

As part of its collaboration with Victim Support, the Koestler Trust invited people who had been affected by crime to respond to some of the artworks. Their responses are displayed within the exhibition.  David Myers, the Atkinson School Art Teacher, was able to visit The Supreme Courts of Justice and see the Atkinson’s students work in the exhibition. There were five pieces of work from our students, including printmaking, digital design, photography and sculpture. The work looked superb in this very prestigious venue which is next door to Westminster Abbey and across the road from the Houses of Parliament.

A wonderful chance for our young people to showcase their talents and skills.
