100 years on – women’s art trail

To commemorate the centenary of women’s suffrage, the Koestler Trust is producing an art trail of Koestler Award-winning artworks.  The idea is simple but powerful: to exhibit 100 framed paintings, drawings, sculptures and poems by women from secure units in important venues and public buildings throughout the UK.  The trail will shine a light on women 100 years on from 1918 Representation of the People Act which was preceded by a suffragette campaign which led to the imprisonment of many of its supporters.

The Atkinson Home is delighted and very proud that our young people’s artwork has been exhibited in the following venues: South Bank Centre, New Scotland Yard, UEA Law School (University of East Anglia), Cardiff Crown Court, Leeds Combined Court, Newcastle City Centre Police Station, Liverpool Crown and Magistrates Court, Nottingham Crown Court, Guildford Crown Court, Victoria Prentis MP Constituency Office, and Alex Chalk MP Constituency Office.
